Activities
Holiday understands that seniors who are involved and active enjoy a more fulfilling and longer life. So, we’ve made it our mission to provide residents with a robust programme of activities and events designed to stimulate emotionally, physically, spiritually, creatively, socially and vocationally.
Our social calendars include much more than just games and puzzles and are part of a holistic wellness approach that only Holiday Retirement provides it’s senior residents.
Engaging, Enriching, Inspiring
On any given day, residents can participate in activities like Tai Chi or other exercise groups, attend an educational seminar, join a card game or start a Bean Bag Baseball contest, play Wii Sports, or volunteer with any number of available outlets through Holiday’s award-winning volunteer program, Seniors Serving Seniors/Seniors Serving Society.
No matter your passions or how you aspire to spend your retirement, Holiday has your outlet.
Bean Bag Baseball
This game promotes physical activity with seniors getting out of the chair to bat, standing on base or walking to the next base, and tossing bean bags. Chairs are set up as bases, and a “batter” gets three attempts to toss a bean bag into one of the holes on the board, taking the corresponding “base”.
Seniors Serving Seniors
The purpose of SSS is to coordinate opportunities for residents to enrich the lives of others, and, in return, enhance purpose and passion in their own lives. Studies have shown that senior volunteers enjoy a better quality of life than the average non-volunteering senior
